Citizenship

An Albanian passport provides visa-free travel to the Schengen zone and most European countries. Thanks to its short processing time and modest investment amounts, it is an attractive option for those looking for a golden passport. Albania is an official candidate for joining the EU, which is expected to make the demand for this program much higher in the future.

Your spouse, underage children, and even financially dependent children over 18 and parents can be included in your application.

The processing time for the application is really short: you can have your new passport in your hands in just 3-4 months. With a one-time investment you will receive citizenship for life. Dual citizenship is generally allowed, so you can keep your original passport.

Thanks to a bilateral agreement, those holding an Albanian passport can travel visa-free to almost 100 countries, including the whole Schengen zone and most countries in Europe. When Albania joins the EU, the number of visa-free countries is expected to grow significantly.

You have three options for obtaining Albanian citizenship by investment. The first is a non-refundable donation of USD 250,000. Second, you can invest in an approved development project for a minimum of USD 200,000, and keep your investment for at least 5 years. Third, you can invest in an Albanian business for at least USD 500,000. Further conditions apply for business investments, including a minimum salary budget of USD 100,000, and the condition to employ at least 4 Albanian nationals for each foreign employee.

In addition, you will have to pay due diligence fees of USD 7,500, as well as government fees of USD 25,000 (USD 50,000 for the business investment option).

Please note that the limits and fees above apply to single applicants. Fees vary based on the number and age of dependent family members included in your application.
